Crown & Liver

A pub serving food in Hawarden.

The Crown & Liver is on the outskirts of Hawarden, and it’s added the coveted Marstons National Award of Best Town and City venue 2012 to its growing portfolio of accolades! A traditional pub with very much a modern twist, it boasts flamboyant décor which includes chandeliers, beautiful wallpapers, leather booth seating, wooden beams and an outdoor water terrace – a perfect combination of traditional meets eccentric!

With an extensive beer selection, its Good Beer Guide accreditation declares its six well kept cask ales and warm, friendly staff as just two of the many great features of the pub – there are also some impressive cocktails available, courtesy of impressive in-house mixologists!
The extensive menu (based on local produce) offers a fabulous selection of grazing boards featuring delights such as chicken tikka skewers, beerbattered onion rings and slow-roasted belly pork cubes with hoi-sin. These can either by eaten as a main course or to share!

Saturday nights are a big attraction, showcasing new musical talent and top-quality live music from cover bands, plus up-and-coming original artists from all over the country.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.
