Langdon Beck Hotel

A child friendly pub serving food and a garden in Forest-in-Teesdale.

The perfect location to enjoy a refreshing pint of our excellent beer. As a Cask Marque pub you’ll know that your beer has been lovingly cared for! Recommended in the Good Beer Guide consistently from 2007-2015. Regular beers include Ringwood Best Bitter and Jarrow Brewery’s award winning real ale, Rivet Catcher. We believe our welcoming staff, great beer and good food are the essence of the hotel. So as well as award winning beer, our homemade meals include hearty soups served with homemade bread. Firm favourites such as Steak Pie, Cottage Pie & Ham, Egg and Chips are regular specials. Our daily menu includes Teesdale Lamb Chops and succulent Gammons and Sirloins. A wide variety of homemade puddings, include; traditional Apple Crumble a truly gingery Ginger Sponge and scrumptious Sticky Toffee Pudding. For a lighter touch try White Chocolate & Raspberry Cheesecake.

Sunday Lunch also deserves a mention as this is the perfect destination for a lazy Sunday drive through Upper Teesdale’s picturesque villages. Booking is advisable as this is one of our busiest mealtimes.

With three real coal fires we can offer a cosy welcome in the depth of winter, or on those all too cool summer evenings. For those rather warmer days you can always sit in our Beer Garden with it’s stunning views over the fells.

Rivet Catcher 4.0 Great North Eastern Brewing Company

A symbolic tradesman from Tyneside's glorious shipyard history. A light, smooth, satisfying gold bitter. Subtle fruity hops give the taste profile on tongue and nose.

Tasting Notes:

Wainwright 4.1 Wainwright

An exquisitely, golden ale, named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.
