Merrymoor Inn

A child friendly pub serving food and a garden in Newquay.

The Merrymoor offers bed and breakfast accommodation on the north Cornwall coast.

With a bar which warmly welcomes both locals and visitors and serves excellent lunches and dinners using locally sourced produce, The Merrymoor has seven contemporary sea view or country view guest rooms, the former with dramatic views across the bay at Mawgan Porth.

Situated between Newquay and Padstow, it’s ideal for guests whatever their interests – families seeking a traditional beach holiday or short surfing break, walkers heading to Bedruthan Steps a few miles along the Coast Path, those who enjoy exploring caves at low tide before settling down with a book and a pint to the background rumble of a pounding Atlantic, and storm watchers.

The beachside location is equally appealing at any time of the year and four generations are testament to an outstandingly successful family run business, which has evolved without losing its commitment to great food and drink, comfortable accommodation at reasonable prices and a genuine welcome.

Betty Stogs 4 The Old Ale House - do not use

Betty Stogs is an award-winning, copper-coloured bitter brewed since 1997 using Cornish water; whole-flower Celeia, Northdown and Aurora hops; Cornish malted barley and wheat; and Skinner’s unique yeast

Tasting Notes: Copper-coloured, with a light malty aroma, a floral, even cedar taste, and a sharp tang of bitter grapefruit, this is an ale that has the strength of character to take on tasty dishes like stews, hard cheeses and meat-packed pasties.

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.

Tribute 4.2 St Austell Brewery

Tribute is an easy drinking pale ale.

Tasting Notes: Fresh, Orange, Grapefruit The zesty orange and grapefruit flavours are balanced with biscuit malt. The beer of South West sport, Tribute has high profile shirt sponsorships with Somerset and Gloucester CCCs as well as close relationships with both Football League clubs Plymouth and Exeter City. Tribute is also the Official Beer of South West Rugby and supports many rugby teams in the region with shirt sponsorships, plus it is the main sponsor of the Cornwall RFU whose teams are the current County Champions and holders of the Bill Beaumont Cup. We were also thrilled in 2015 for Tribute to be the main sponsor of Bristol Balloon Fiesta and in 2016 Tribute will again be a high profile partner of this wonderful event. All told, there is plenty to look forward to for Tribute in the coming year.
