Prospect Of Whitby

A child friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Wapping.

The Prospect of Whitby is London's oldest riverside pub dating back to 1520. The original flagstone floor survives and the pub also has a rare pewter-topped bar as well as old barrels and ships masts built into the structure. Most areas of the pub have spectacular views over the River Thames, including the beer garden and first floor balcony and terrace. The pub was originally frequented by those involved in life on the river and sea and it was a notorious haunt for smugglers, thieves and pirates. Other notable customers have been Charles Dickens, Samuel Pepys, Judge Jeffries and artists Whistler and Turner.

Best Bitter 3.8 Black Sheep Brewery Plc

The original stalwart of the Black Sheep range. First brewed in 1992, Best Bitter is the iconic Yorkshire Bitter devised and created to offer beer with real flavour and bite. A different breed

Tasting Notes: Brewed with whole flower English hops, Best Bitter packs a genuine spiky bitterness with big character. Challenger, Goldings and Fuggle hops blend to create a beautiful aroma and flavour with kicks of grassy freshness and a big peppery punch. The Maris Otter malt offers a light sweetness that balances against those big bitter characters.

Greene King IPA 3.6 Greene King PLC

An easy drinking, refreshing IPA with a hoppy taste, and aroma to give a clean dry finish

Tasting Notes: Tawny Amber in colour with a hoppy taste and aroma.

Jamboree 4.8 East London Brewing Company

A golden beer using English hops throughout, in particular Bramling Cross, Jamboree has a blend of lager, pale and wheat malt, giving a smooth but refreshing mouthfeel.

Tasting Notes: Apricot, biscuit, dry finish
