Queens Head

A dog friendly pub serving food in Bury St. Edmunds.

The Queens Head is Bury St. Edmunds’ original free house with over twenty years of experience in catering and drinks service. It’s a small family run business operated by Jan Rutherford and Mark Nicolson who have been at the premises for twenty three years. Originally a coaching inn in the 18th century, the public house has seen many changes but has still managed to retain plenty of character. In part this is due to it’s location in the Medieval grid but mostly to do with the people who visit us and the staff who serve. To this day it continues to serve the public, providing quality products and services. Drop in and meet our friendly, fully trained staff who will be more than happy to tend to your needs.

Broadside 4.7 Adnams

Brewed with East Anglian malted barley and First Gold hops, Broadside is a dark ruby red beer, rich in fruitcake aromas, almonds and conserved fruit. Broadside has been a firm favourite among Adnams beers for many years now. Originally brewed to commemorate the Battle of Sole Bay, fought over 300 years ago off the coast of Southwold, it’s since earned a special place in beer drinkers’ hearts.

Hooker 4.5 Batemans Brewery

The perfect beer to celebrate rugby, light amber in colour, full bodied with a malty, biscuity base and hints of citrus with a subtle hop spiciness.

Nethergate IPA 3.5 Nethergate Brewery Co. Ltd

If you want an IPA that's not too strong, heavily hopped and India bound, nor zesty and crafted in the good old U.S. of A, well here's the real deal - Ian & Paul's Ale.

Tasting Notes: A superb apple-crisp session beer. Hoppy throughout, with a lingering bitter end.
