Sam's Brasserie & Bar

A restaurant serving food in London.

Sam's Brasserie & Bar opened in August 2005 and is located in the Barley Mow Centre, just off Chiswick High Road in the heart of Chiswick, West London.

An all-day every day, informal neighbourhood 100-seat brasserie with an adjacent 55-seat bar, Sam's is spearheaded by co-owner Sam Harrison, who previously worked with Rick Stein in Padstow and in Sydney for two years.

Formerly a paper factory, the Barley Mow Centre was redeveloped in 2003/04 as office space for approximately 110 small businesses, and is indicative of how Chiswick is maturing as a desirable business and residential neighbourhood.

Harrison cites his experience with Stein as seminal to his independent venture, and, indeed, the feeling is mutual since Stein is an investor in the Chiswick project and acts in a 'godfatherly' way to help Harrison through the complicated process of owning a restaurant in London.

"Sam was my General Manager in Padstow for three years, and I saw in him a real talent for the restaurant business. From my own experience, I know how hard it is to get a foothold in the industry, and I wanted to help, encourage and advise in any way I could. I'm so pleased that he decided to call it Sam's as I know that he'll run the place in his own individual style." commented Rick Stein.

Sam's Brasserie & Bar is open daily from 9am until late.

Tasting Notes:

Estrella Damm Inedit 4.8 S.A. Damm

Aromatised with coriander, orange peel and liquorice. Inedit means “Never been done before”. In cooperation with Estrella Damm, Inedit was crafted by the globally acclaimed chef Ferran Andria, Juli Soler and sommeliers Ferran Centelles and David Seijas from El Bulli Restaurant. A skilfully brewed blend of lager and wheat beer styles, Inedit uses a combination of barley malt, wheat, hops, coriander, orange peel, yeast and water. Uniquely brewed to create a complex aroma and opaque appearance, a floral nose leaves a sensation of fresh yeast and sweet spices. Lightly carbonated with a creamy texture, the soft full body leaves a long and lasting finish.

Tasting Notes: High intensity and aromatic complexity. Its appearance is slightly cloudy. Fruity and floral to the nose, with a yeasty sensation and sweet spice reminiscences. Creamy, fresh texture, soft volume and delicately carbonic. Long aftertaste and pleasant memory.
