Tapping the Admiral

A pub serving food in Camden.

Tapping the Admiral is just far enough away from the hubbub of Camden Market to have the welcoming, laid back atmosphere of a contemporary London pub.
Much like The Castle Tavern after which the road is named, Tapping the Admiral is a haven from the stress of city life.

Drink % Brewery
Amstel 4.1 Heineken

Our classic, golden Amstel Beer, with its very distinctive and mildly bitter taste, has over the years become well known beyond the borders of its native country.

Tasting Notes:

Broadside 4.7 Adnams

Brewed with East Anglian malted barley and First Gold hops, Broadside is a dark ruby red beer, rich in fruitcake aromas, almonds and conserved fruit. Broadside has been a firm favourite among Adnams beers for many years now. Originally brewed to commemorate the Battle of Sole Bay, fought over 300 years ago off the coast of Southwold, it’s since earned a special place in beer drinkers’ hearts.

Camden Pale Ale 4.0 Camden Town Brewery

They crafted this beer to more British tastes. Made with American hops, it’s still got all the punch of a pale ale. Just less shouty.

Tasting Notes:

Conqueror 1075 7.4 Windsor and Eton Brewery

With an original gravity of 1075, at 7.4% ABV CONQUEROR 1075 is a true strength IPA. But that’s where comparisons to other IPA’s stop. CONQUEROR 1075 is an award winning black, rich and complex IPA brewed from a unique blend of 5 dark roasted malts and grain. It is bottle conditioned and packaged in bottle (including champagne bottles) as well as sold on very special occasions in cask

Tasting Notes: The aroma is a rich hoppy and burnt "bomb" with distinct pine resin and citrus notes mingled with treacle and molasses notes. The flavour doesn't disappoint with a full, rich Christmas pudding - just after being flambéed effect. Very warming.

Dark Star Original 5.0 Dark Star Brewing Co.

The brewery’s eponymous former Champion Beer of Britain. A dark, strong and bitter beer that defies classification. It has a complex malt flavour with a hint of burnt flavour from the mixture of Crystal and Chocolate grist.

Tasting Notes:

Ghost Ship 4.5 Adnams

Ghost Ship is inspired by one of Adnams’ most haunted pubs in one of the UK’s most haunted villages, the Bell at Walberswick. It's a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone.

Tasting Notes: This is a Pale Ale with a pithy bitterness and a malty backbone. Brewed with a selection of malts – Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara – Adnams use Citra and a blend of other American hop varieties to create some great citrus flavours

Guinness Original 4.2 Guinness

Swirling clouds tumble as the storm begins to calm.

Tasting Notes: Unmistakeably GUINNESS®, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop. And every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.

Hackney Hopster 4.2 London Fields Brewery - CLOSED

The Hackney Hopster is a debonair young chap of a pacific pale ale.

Tasting Notes: Dressed in New Zealand & US hops, the Hopster shows off flavours of grapefruit, lemon zest and gooseberry, with a dry and fresh finish.

London Lager 4.5 Meantime Brewing Co Ltd

A London brew with country roots, it’s a straightforward, clean, long-matured, unpasteurised lager that bursts with the classic flavours of East Anglian malt and Kentish hops.

Tasting Notes:

Redemption HopSpur 4.5 Redemption Brewing Co

Amber Ale with some citrus fruit aromas, chewy biscuity malt flavours, slight sticky sweetness and grapefruit piney hop flavours. Well balanced with hop flavours to the fore and an easy bitter finish.
