The Boars Head

A pub serving food and a garden in Great Dunmow.

Four hundred-year-old traditional town center pub on the corner of the main public car park. This timber-framed lathe and plaster building tends to give a little when lorries bump it while negotiating the tight bend outside. Inside are beamed low ceilings and three large-screen TVs for sport. Live music is performed on Saturday evenings. A large decking area at the rear includes covered seating for smokers.

Adnams Southwold Bitter 3.7 Adnams

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.

London Pride 4.1 Fuller's Brewery

In recent years its popularity has grown to the extent that it is now Britain’s leading premium ale: a welcome fixture in many pubs and off licences around the country, and now winning new friends abroad.

Tasting Notes: Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.

Sharp's Atlantic Pale Ale Cask 4.2 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Atlantic is a modern pale ale brewed to feature the best attributes of our ingredients. Succulence from two types of malt, tropical and citrus fruits from new world hops.

Tasting Notes: Atlantic is a deep golden colour. The aroma of Pale Ale is a blend of stunning citrus notes, juicy tropical fruits and fresh-picked hops with a touch of candy floss.
