The Butchers Arms is a traditional style, dog friendly pub in Chester-le-Street set back from the front street on Middle Chare. Landlady Joan Robinson and partner David Simpson took over the pub in December 2009 and have continued to extend a welcoming family environment to all regulars and new customers alike. Why not come down and have a fine drink in a great atmosphere!

This premium cask ale has a strong following throughout the country. Courage Directors was originally brewed exclusively for the Directors of the Alton brewery, but following public demand, the beer was made available to the public.
