The Counting House

A pub serving food with Sky TV in London.

The Counting House was built in 1893 as Prescott's Bank, and the foundations rest partly on the North sleeper wall of a 2,000 year old Roman basilica.

Certainly there's plenty of history to the place, and even more recently, the magnificent building has found fame - it's been used in film-making and even hosted a Parliamentary debate.

By day of course, it's a Fuller's Ale and Pie pub - with a spectacular island bar, an overlooking gallery, and private function rooms at every turn.

Bengal Lancer 5.0 Fuller's Brewery

Inspired by the classic India Pale Ales of times gone by, Fuller’s Bengal Lancer redefines Eastern promise. With a full-bodied flavour and spicy character, it’s an IPA that grabs the reins and leads from the front.

Tasting Notes: Conjuring a landscape of sandstorms and sunsets, Bengal Lancer pours a pale amber colour. On the palate, orange, character is followed by floral and spicy notes from the hops – riding through to a satisfying finish of mild bitterness. Great with a curry, Bengal Lancer cuts through to refresh the palate and add its own gentle touch of spice.

Black Cab 4.2 Fuller's Brewery

A dark complex stout

Tasting Notes: Black Cab pours a near jet-black colour with hints of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts on the nose. Dark in the glass, it’s lighter on the palate - with red berry notes and mild hops meeting chocolatey, malty character on the way to a delicious dry finish.

Chiswick Bitter 3.5 Fuller's Brewery

Award-winning sessionable ale

Tasting Notes: Extra hops added to the cask give Chiswick Bitter a distinctive hoppy aroma and a lasting bitterness in the finish. There’s crispness on the palate while notes of biscuity malt perfectly complement the hops. Brewed to a low ABV, Chiswick Bitter is the ideal companion to lunchtime dishes.

ESB 5.5 Fuller's Brewery

Our extra-special Bitter

Tasting Notes: Rich mahogany in colour, ESB tempts with aromas of orange marmalade, balanced by soft malt toffee. The hops impart grassy, peppery notes alongside hints of citrus fruit – while the Pale Ale and Crystal malts bring distinctive biscuity flavours. A smooth, delicate bitterness lingers on the palate to give a supreme finish.

London Pride 4.1 Fuller's Brewery

In recent years its popularity has grown to the extent that it is now Britain’s leading premium ale: a welcome fixture in many pubs and off licences around the country, and now winning new friends abroad.

Tasting Notes: Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.
