The Gamekeeper

A pub serving food in Old Buckenham.

If you are looking to visit a perfect example of a country village pub then look no further. The Gamekeeper has a wealth of character and features typical of a building dating back to 1630. We offer an extensive range of Ales, beers and wines to satisfy your thirst and menu of pub food and specials based on the area and theme of the house all to sustain your appetite. We have 3 dinning areas 2 of which can be closed off for private parties or meetings.

The main dinning hall can seat up to 50 guests spaciously, with a different layout we can seat 70. This room has to be seen with its high ceilings and stone fireplace it has a real medieval feel. It is in here that we host our Sunday carvery.

Located on East Anglia's largest village green, our 17th Century Grade II listed pub overlooks the pastures & ponds of Old Buckenham. We are situated 14 miles from Norwich and 9 miles from Diss.

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer. It’s a perfect 3.7% abv in cask and 4.1% abv in bottle and can.
