The Great Central

A child friendly pub serving food with WiFi in Manchester.

Our award-winning pubs provide the very best customer experience, with superb quality, choice and value, in both food and drink.

Running some of the best pubs, with some of the best teams around, is reward enough, yet we're proud to receive so many local, regional and national awards, in recognition of our team's efforts. the diversity of these awards epitomizes what we are trying to offer communities through our pubs.

The fact that we have more pubs in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide than any other pub company shows our commitment to remain as Britain's biggest supporter of real ale and microbreweries, while, when it comes to achieving the highest standards in pub toilets, we are in a league of our own. Ever since the national Loo of the Year Awards were launched, we have been a regular high-flyer and have repeatedly won top awards in the 'pubs and wine bars' category. For us pub design is a key feature of any pub - and we have consistently won top awards for all aspects of our buildings, ranging from design to conservation.

Drink % Brewery
Abbot Ale 5.0 Greene King PLC

Full flavoured, smooth and mature taste with fruit cake characters , a malty richness and superb hop balance.

Tasting Notes: Mahogany in colour and brewed for longer to create a rich malty, and mature flavour.

Cascade Pale Ale 4.8 Saltaire Brewery Ltd

American style pale ale with the floral aromas and strong bitterness of Cascade and Centennial hops.

Tasting Notes:

Full Whack 6.0 Peerless Brewing Co.

The clue is in the name. A rich deep golden strong ale. The name is derived from the days when sailors from Merseyside would demand full rations.

Tasting Notes: The high level of alcohol is complemented by increased bitterness and the fruity hop finish is derived from a combination of Fuggles, First Gold and Cascade hops.

Pendle Witches Brew 5.1 Moorhouse's Brewery

A full malty flavoured beer with a crisp sweet fruity aftertaste and soft citrus nose.

Tasting Notes: A bold, malty amber beer with spice fruit notes and crisp fruity aftertaste.

Plum Porter 4.9 Titanic Brewery Co Ltd

This beer is dark, strong and well rounded; the richness of such a rotund beer is brought to an even keel by the late addition of Golding’s hops and natural plum flavouring.

Tasting Notes: Well-rounded porter with fruity, sweet notes over a backdrop of hoppy flavour. Deep red in colour but not in taste, the plum lightens the deepness on the palate.
