The Lord Lyon

A pub serving food in Nr Newbury.

This impressive pub/restaurant was until recently named Rybaks, but has now reverted back to its old name, The Lord Lyon - named after a famous racehorse which won the Triple Crown in 1866 and was owned by Lord Sutton who also owned much of the surrounding land. It was only in the last 30 years, though, that the name was changed and older villagers in Stockcross still refer to it as The Nag's Head.

Kingsdown Ale 4.8 Arkell's Brewery Ltd

Kingsdown Ale is the strongest of the regular beers but is a brother to 3B as it comes from the same mash. It retains a strong character of its own, however, with its rich colour, ripe fruit ’nose’ and that traditional Arkell’s hopiness.

Tasting Notes: You can taste the malt, along with a bitter-sweet finish and fruit notes

Wiltshire Gold 3.7 Arkell's Brewery Ltd

Golden Pale Ale

Tasting Notes: Sweet, Malty Hoppy
