The Magpie

A child friendly pub serving food with WiFi in Bishopsgate.

You will find The Magpie in Bishopsgate London within a short stroll of Liverpool Street Station, Bishopsgate and Houndsditch - however you won't find another like it.

Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.

The site of our pub was an ambulance station at the beginning of the 20th Century, but its place in history was secured when one of the first electric ambulances was stationed here in 1909. At night time and Sundays this one vehicle served the entire city. We are just off Bishopsgate, a street named after the Bishop's Gate, which stood opposite Camomile Street.

The Magpie is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.
