We are situated in the wonderful countryside hamlet of Riley Green near Hoghton, between Preston and Blackburn. We’re a stones throw away from the Leeds-Liverpool canal and a short distance from the famous Hoghton Tower. Were best known for our fresh and locally sourced food, which keeps our customers coming back for more as well as our Cask Marque accredited ales and our selection of World Beers. Discover something a little different with curiously dark and thoroughly delicious Nutty Black. This dark ruby mild is one of only four beers to win Champion Beer of Britain twice, and voted World’s Best Dark Mild at the World Beer Awards.

Tasting Notes: Dark ruby mild with a hint of nuttiness but unmistakable roasted and bittersweet flavours. Brewed with only the finest dark kiln roasted malts and English barley for a bittersweet flavour and lightly hopped with Fuggles and Goldings.

Tasting Notes: Brewed using premium grade Maris Otter malt and blend of traditional English hops including Fuggles and Goldings, giving a malty flavoured beer with a delicate dry finish
Wainwright 4.1 Wainwright

An exquisitely, golden ale, named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.
