The Well house Tavern

A venue serving food with Sky TV in Exeter.

This historic tavern, located next to ABode Exeter on the Cathedral Yard, has served traditional ales and food to Exonians and visitors for centuries.

Today it continues its role as a city centre watering hole, serving traditional and local West Country ales, a good selection of wines and other drinks, together with outstanding foods freshly prepared in the award-winning Michael Caines kitchens.

The Well House is a popular lunchtime and evening venue for superior pub food. Of particular note is our 'not-so-traditional' fish and chips which are well worth a try. You can also drop in to enjoy Sunday lunch with all the trimmings at a table overlooking Exeter's beautiful cathedral.

Best Bitter 3.8 Ringwood Brewery Ltd

An ideal balance of hoppy happiness and tangy citrus, our classic Best Bitter is plenty refreshing to hit the s

Tasting Notes:

Hobgoblin - Ruby Beer 4.5 Wychwood Brewery

Traditional Ruby Beer. Hobgoblin is a blend of smooth rich flavours from chocolate and crystal malts, combined with a refreshing bitterness from English Fuggles hops and a dash of citrus aroma from Styrian Goldings.

Tasting Notes:

Otter Ale 4.5 Otter Brewery

Imagine a piece of beautifully polished mahogany and you’ve got the deep, rich tones of Otter Ale. The malty aroma and hints of fruit provide a first clue to the flavour but the taste goes further and finishes in a strong combination of fruit and some bitterness.

Tasting Notes: A pale brown, well balanced beer, with a predominant hop and malty taste and aftertaste.

Otter Amber 4.0 Otter Brewery

Otter Amber was first brewed for the trade in March 2009 as a mid gravity beer to complete the Otter range

Tasting Notes: The special Cara malt and carefully selected hops in Amber deliver a finely balanced bitter flavour, with hints of tropical fruit and spice sometimes even an impression of ginger.
