The Ostrich Inn

A pub serving food in Colnbrook.

The Ostrich, near Heathrow
Is the third oldest pub in the UK. Dating from 1106, The Ostrich near Heathrow, combines everything that you would expect of an historic coaching inn: beams, fireplaces, crooked stairs, a cobbled courtyard and an interesting history, with all your modern day expectations. Yet it is close to Heathrow Airport; terminals, 1,2,3,4 and 5 as well as the major transport links.

In 2006 The Ostrich underwent a major refurbishment, you will find that 900 years of hospitality has not been wasted and today you can enjoy honest, tasty pub food, prepared from fresh local ingredients, in relaxed and comfortable surroundings, yet only a stones throw from Heathrow Airport and the main transport links. If all you fancy is a drink – don’t worry; like any pub, we serve wine by the glass or bottle and you also have a choice of a wide range of real ales which change on a regular basis.

If you are looking for a pub while staying near to Heathrow Airport, because you are on the drop off or pick up run to Heathrow, or simply because you are in business in the Heathrow area, we look forward to welcoming you. We are open lunchtime and evenings 7 days a week and have loads of free car parking.

Chef, has created a wide ranging, modern British, menu - read what the critics say which you can see on our food page. Your host is Philippe De Azevedo and he looks forward to welcoming you to this historic pub near Heathrow.

Drink % Brewery
Amber Ale 4.5 Shepherd Neame

A golden-brown ale with a fruity aroma and a full, malty palate, Amber Ale derives its unique signature from the special marriage of fruity, fragrant hops with Pale, Crystal and Brown malts, making it a classic beer to savour and enjoy.

Tasting Notes:

Master Brew 3.7 Shepherd Neame

Master Brew is brewed using only the finest Kentish barley and hops and is Shepherd Neame's flagship beer in the brewery's Kentish heartland.

Tasting Notes: Delicate and devilishly drinkable, this quintessentially Kentish ale lays the county''s hallowed, herbaceous hops on a firm, biscuity bed of pale and crystal malt. Endowed with an inviting auburn-amber hue and a tantalising toffee-ish aroma, it''s an enlivening English ale that, given its unassuming ABV, pleasures the palate with a remarkable fullness of flavour.

Sharp's Doom Bar Amber Ale 4.0 Sharp's Brewery Ltd

Doom Bar is a perfectly balanced beer combining subtle yet complex flavours, Doom Bar is both satisfying and deliciously moreish.

Tasting Notes: “The aroma of Doom Bar combines an accomplished balance of spicy resinous hop, inviting sweet malt and delicate roasted notes. The mouth feel is a perfectly balanced and complex blend of succulent dried fruit, lightly roasted malty notes and a subtle yet assertive bitterness. The bitterness remains into the finish with dry fruity notes which implore the drinker to go back for more.” Stuart Howe, Head Brewer.

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale 3.9 Shepherd Neame

Whitstable Bay Pale Ale is designed to suit all palates and offer a light, refreshing taste. The sweet maltiness balances perfectly with the fresh pine notes provided by the hops added late in the process, to offer a light-coloured, thirst-quenching ale.

Tasting Notes: Refreshing, pine, fresh
