Only a few paces from the sea and open to everyone. This is not an Olde Worlde pub with low oak beams on which to bump your head but it is traditional. Built in 1856, it is solid, sunny and spacious. The decorations are light and bright and the rooms are well proportioned and comfortable.
The beer is good, carefully kept and carefully served, while the freshly cooked meals more than satisfies the most ravenous of holiday appetites. In both the public bar and cosy lounge you can rub shoulders with the native Cornishman and enjoy the experience.
Holidays should provide an escape from restrictions and routine. Here, within obvious bounds, you may do as you please in an atmosphere which is friendly, unhurried and relaxing.
Portreath offers visitors a multiple of choice of things to do; there are lovely coastal walks taking in the breathtaking panorama of the bay, a sandy beach for sunbathing, and for the more energetic there is good surfing and other sea-sports including wind-surfing and fishing.
Portreath is very welcoming but is not over commercialised. During the season the beach is cleaned daily and dogs are banned on the beach from Easter Day to 1st October (between the hours of 7am & 7pm) each year ensuring it is a safe and clean place to relax
