The Crown Inn, Walney was originally constructed in 1865, it is situated on North Scales, Walney Island a small sliver of land that lies in the Irish sea. The Island is connected to Barrow in Furness by the Jubilee bridge opened in 1908 known then as Walney Bridge. Historically Barrow Island was where the ship workers lived. The Crown is a large imposing building with a large car park and outside seating area, to enjoy the rather special views. The pub has a very busy locals bar offering great cask ales and friendly banter. People come from all over the area to enjoy the delicious home cooked food. A day out on Walney is should always include a visit to the Crown.
