The Steampacket in Swanwick used to be Shipstones Brewery pub back in the day. Swanwick itself is a Parish within the Amber Valley district, with a population of over 5,000. Situated opposite the Church of St Andrews which celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 2010, The Steampacket has a fantastic location within the village and is a real landmark for the locals, being on the busy road between Alfreton and Somercotes. Serving three cask ales the pub has a great range of draught and bottled products for a bar so small, and the wine list is ever expanding in the short time it's been since Pub People bought the freehold in summer 2012.
