The Duke

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Buxton.

Welcome to The Duke, a warm, friendly and inviting pub in the heart of The Peak District.

The Duke offers a great range of keg lagers & beers and 4 Cask Marque accredited ales. As well as this, we have a great wine selection, all available by the glass and bottle, an extensive spirit selection and an interesting soft drinks range, suitable for children and adults.

All our food is locally sourced and freshly prepared by our kitchen team wherever possible. You will expect to find some great pub favourites, like beer battered fish & chips & our famous homemade pies, as well as some interesting dishes available on our specials board which is updated daily. A children's menu is available throughout the day, early evenings and at weekends.

We hold regular events and we are a completely child and dog friendly pub - as long as all are well behaved! However under our Premises License, children are only allowed in the pub until 9pm, so please bear this in mind when making an evening booking.

The staff at The Duke will always greet you with a warm and friendly smile, so if you haven't visited The Duke yet, why not come along and give us a try? We'd love to see you!

Drink % Brewery
Dizzy Blonde 3.8 Frederic Robinson Ltd

Dizzy Blonde started life as a limited edition seasonal ale. With demand quickly out stripping supply we promoted Dizzy to our core family range of ales.

Tasting Notes: Dizzy Blonde is a straw coloured ale with distinctive herbal or perfume like hop aroma. It’s a light refreshing beer with a clean zesty hop, complimented by a crisp dry finish.

Tetley's Cask Ale 3.6 Carlsberg UK Ltd

After nearly two centuries of perfecting the brewing process, the name Tetley’s is synonymous with a smooth, tasty pint created from a perfect combination of traditional and modern brewing techniques.

Tasting Notes: Tetley's Cask is an amber Cask Ale first brewed in Leeds in 1822, which has roasted caramel bitter sweetness balanced with distinctly aromatic smooth hoppy flavours and a lingering dry bitter finish

Wainwright 4.1 Wainwright

An exquisitely, golden ale, named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.
