Welcome to The Hen & Chicken! The Hen & Chicken is a prominent public house situated on the busy A31, 2 miles North of Alton towards Farnham. Built in approximately 1740, the main purpose of the building was a chaise house here stage coaches on their way to London would rest whilst horses were changed and passengers refreshed. It was also used as a stopping place for Bishop's travelling between Winchester and Cantebury.

Many years ago the Head Brewer, John Woodhouse – invited his team to sample his latest creation. On rising to go, his mischievous companion, believing a walk was imminent, tangled his owner up with the lead and Woodhouse fell upon the perfect name.

Tasting Notes: This award winning golden ale is brewed with Goldings hops which lends this brew its’ subtle floral notes, alongside hints of melon and pear developed from fermentation.
