Princess Royal Inn

A pub serving food in Taunton.

The Princess Royal is a traditional family and community oriented pub set just off (and within just a few minutes walk of) the town centre. We offer a full range of services with an extensive lunch-time menu, a comprehensively stocked bar, traditional pub games including pool, darts and skittles, live music at weekends, and, above all, a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.
Landlord Tim and his partner Patsy have been running 'The Royal' for 20 years and are still committed to working hard to achieve perfection!
The Royal sets high regard on traditional respect and good behavior, and we would ask our clients to join us in observing these same standards. Given this, all are welcome - we look forward to seeing you.

Drink % Brewery
Butcombe Original 4.0 Butcombe Brewing Co.

The beer that changed everything. The first brew they perfected, the beer that made their name with its distinctive bitter, clean and refreshingly dry flavour.

Tasting Notes: Made with only the best Maris Otter malt blended with a variety of English hops, Butcombe Original is the classic session beer.

Landlord 4.3 Timothy Taylor's Brewery

The drinkers' favourite, a 4.3% classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma

Tasting Notes: A strong classic ale with a golden amber colour. It has a scent of caramel, light fruits and roasted malt hints.

London Pride 4.1 Fuller's Brewery

In recent years its popularity has grown to the extent that it is now Britain’s leading premium ale: a welcome fixture in many pubs and off licences around the country, and now winning new friends abroad.

Tasting Notes: Rich, smooth and elegant on the palate, it draws to a clean, satisfying finish with beautifully balanced bitterness.
