When we started out we had a simple plan – to open the best Country Pub Restaurant we could. Our background was in London, Katherine and I both grew up locally and we wanted to return to the area to bring up our young family and settle! The White Oak used to be called The White Hart and then more recently Spencers. Strangely not named after our famous local artist here in Cookham but after the landlord’s son! We chose to call it The White Oak to respect the history of the site as well as to reflect our new direction. Why not come down and pay us a visit!
