Our pub offers good quality traditional pub food in a newly refurbished environment, all at affordable prices. We also offer an extensive range of guest real ales. Ideally situated just five minutes walk from Chester Cathedral, shops, city walls and near Chester Racecourse there’s no excuse to miss out on The Old Custom House Inn!

Drink % Brewery
Hobgoblin Gold 4.2 Wychwood Brewery

Hobgoblin Gold is the latest beer carrying the little fella’s moniker, and while Gold might be lighter in colour, it’s definitely no lightweight

Tasting Notes: A combination of six hop varieties (yes six!) & an infusion of wheat and malted barley has resulted in the perfect golden beer – with a huge hop punch.

Pedigree 4.5 Marstons

Pedigree. Now with added personality. They haven’t changed the taste. Just how it looks. So welcome to the new-look Pedigree, or “P” as it was first known. Strange that, looking back.

Tasting Notes: Anyway, it has a fascinating aroma, with a palate of biscuit malt, spicy hops and light fruitiness. It was renamed in a staff competition back in George Peard’s day. He was the Head Brewer at the time – that’s him on the clip. Cheers George.
