The Five Bells

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV in Colchester.

The “Bells” is a village local not just for locals. It has the “Goldilocks element” in that it’s just right for everyone, whether that be a grabbing a quick bite with the Wife for lunch, an afternoon watching cricket or footie with the lads or the full Traditional Sunday Lunch with the whole family (and In-laws). Oh and it also does great Live Music.

Drink % Brewery
Amstel Lager 5.0

Pale yellow golden color with a thin head. Mild aroma with notes of bread and cereals. Flavor with notes of floral and herbal hops, white bread, faint hay and cereals. A bit of cardboard. Mildly dry aftertaste with a low bitterness.

Tasting Notes:

König Pilsener 4.9

Pale Gold in colour, light body and flavour with an earthy & hoppy aroma and flavour.

Tasting Notes:

Mosaic 4.1

Made with, you guessed it, Mosaic hops, this pale blonde has bags of personality with bold mango, peach, lemon and pine flavours and a dry hoppy finish.

Tasting Notes:

Southwold Bitter 3.7

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness.

Tasting Notes:

Spindrift 4.0

Spindrift provides an alternative for lager drinkers who desire the speciality flavours of beer but prefer their beer slightly more carbonated and chilled.

Tasting Notes:

Harry Sparrow 4.6

Medium dry and sessionable with a floral aroma and cedar overtones of apples.
