Black Horse

A child and dog friendly pub serving food and a garden in Chorley.

The Black Horse is located in the charming Lancashire village of Limbrick just to the south of Chorley. The pub is set in delightful rural surroundings in a whirlwind of woodsmoke, nestled at the foot of the West Pennine Moors. Just a stones throw from Anglezarke resevoir. Due to this fantastic location, we are a favourite with walkers and explorers alike.

The pub is reputed to be the second oldest working tavern in the UK and holds the longest unbroken drinks license in the county. Lavished in deep history, today we offer our customers the opportunity of a relaxed drink or casual dining in comfortable surroundings.

The pub still has plenty of country and rustic charm with its low ceilings, open fires and quiet corners where you can lose yourself in all time.

A well-balanced, genuine Yorkshire Bitter, with a full measure of maltiness and hoppy aroma – Boltmaker is first choice for the discerning drinker – on both sides of the Pennines.

Tasting Notes: Scent of citrus, fruit and spicy hoppy aroma. Tastes of roasted malt with a bitter finish.

Hobgoblin - Ruby Beer 4.5 Wychwood Brewery

Traditional Ruby Beer. Hobgoblin is a blend of smooth rich flavours from chocolate and crystal malts, combined with a refreshing bitterness from English Fuggles hops and a dash of citrus aroma from Styrian Goldings.
