Drovers Arms

A child friendly pub serving food in Selby.

Welcome To The Drovers Arms....great food, fine ales, plenty of gin and a friendly atmosphere – what more could you want from a restaurant and country pub?

The Drovers Arms, set in the tiny, picturesque village of Skipwith only ten miles south of York, is fast becoming one of the areas main destination inns. The delicious homemade food is locally sourced and reflects the changing seasons, mirroring the wonderful walks to be found through Skipwith Common, right on its doorstep.

Graham Usher who has over 20 years experience in some of Yorkshires best hotels, is justifiably proud of the new enterprise which he took over in November 2013.

The Drovers Arms has already notched up many awards. Named one of Yorkshires top 30 pubs 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017 by Welcome to Yorkshire and a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence winner 2014, 2015, 2016 & 2017. Customers come from the outskirts of York and Leeds and even from Goole and Hull to visit with many making a 40 mile plus journey!

As Graham Usher says; “We are determined to offer our customers authentic ale served by friendly bar staff, coupled with amazing food. Family is the key and we want The Drovers Arms to provide the best pub experience while maintaining our simple, personal, family approach to our food and service.”

We hope to see you soon

Drink % Brewery
Deuchars IPA 3.8 Caledonian Brewery

Distinctive and long on refreshment. Solid gold in colour, remarkably aromatic, hints of fresh citrus, distinctive light malt and fresh floral flavours, refreshing zesty citric hop, for a mouth-watering finish.

Tasting Notes: Distinctively radiant, deliciously refreshing, Deuchars is a fabulous balance of malt and hops. Discerning beer drinkers consider this to be the benchmark in quality cask beer and for those new to cask, it's the perfect introduction.

John Smiths Bitter 3.8 John Smith's Brewery

Bronze and amber colouring with a malt and fruity smell.

Tasting Notes: Malt, hop bitterness, a full body with lasting aftertaste. John Smith’s bitter, which is still going strong, is a malty, bitter sweet ale with a slight fruitiness and a bitter aftertaste – we probably took the words right out of your mouth.

Otherside IPA 4.5 York Brewery

An International Brewing Awards 2017 Silver category award winner, Otherside IPA is a Maris Otter pacific pale ale packed full of antipodean promise.

Tasting Notes: We’ve selected four of the best New Zealand grown hops to provide a feast for the taste buds. Expect a host of tropical fruit notes against a background of citrus and pine from dry hopping with Motueka.
