The Black Swan

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with WiFi and a garden in Harrogate.

The Black Swan is based in Burn Bridge only a five or ten minute walk from Panel Railway Station which is particularly handy for people attending a function or event here.

This is a well run venue where the emphasis is on the customer being encouraged to return time and again. We provide delicious home made food for which people travel from near and far to enjoy. Our Sunday roast is particularly popular but also the children’s menu which is made with fresh ingredients and not processed food, making us popular with our younger customers too.

The pub has a traditional theme in keeping with its age and there are plans displayed which date back to the 1900’s although it is older than that. As our beer garden is huge with delightful furniture it is ideal for a special event, wedding, party or gala and we can cater for marquees. The Black Swan is clean, light and airy with two open fires and a lovely decor which makes it all the more welcoming.

Best Bitter 3.8 Black Sheep Brewery Plc

The original stalwart of the Black Sheep range. First brewed in 1992, Best Bitter is the iconic Yorkshire Bitter devised and created to offer beer with real flavour and bite. A different breed

Tasting Notes: Brewed with whole flower English hops, Best Bitter packs a genuine spiky bitterness with big character. Challenger, Goldings and Fuggle hops blend to create a beautiful aroma and flavour with kicks of grassy freshness and a big peppery punch. The Maris Otter malt offers a light sweetness that balances against those big bitter characters.

Landlord 4.3 Timothy Taylor's Brewery

The drinkers' favourite, a 4.3% classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma

Tasting Notes: A strong classic ale with a golden amber colour. It has a scent of caramel, light fruits and roasted malt hints.

Theakston Best 3.8 Theakstons Ltd

Theakston Best Bitter is the leading session ale within the Theakston portfolio. When we refer to a ‘bitter’ beer, the term does not mean sour as in lemons, but dry as in ‘dry white wine’. So Best Bitter is a full bodied, dry beer. We use five different hop varieties to make our Best Bitter forming a complex but subtle taste profile. The combination of dryness as generated by Target and Challenger hops, is balanced by sweetness created by the generous use of prime malting barley providing the perfect accompaniment to a wide variety of food flavours as found in a Ploughman’s lunch for instance.

Tasting Notes: This fine, golden amber beer has a full flavour that lingers pleasantly on the palate. With good bittersweet balance, this beer has a subtle hop character described as sweet and fruity. It's a very refreshing and satisfying pint!
