The Half Moon Inn

A child and dog friendly pub serving food with Sky TV and WiFi and a garden in Strensall, York.

Welcome to The Half Moon Inn...

Sam and the team welcome you to The Half Moon Inn, set in the heart of Strensall. It was rebuilt in 1803 which replaced a much older building that had it's own brew house and kiln.

The Half Moon is a friendly run village pub. We pride ourselves on our warm welcoming atmosphere, and good quality drinks and food all at reasonable prices.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Drink % Brewery
61 Deep 4.1

A fresh, zesty aroma. With tropical fruit and citrus notes.

Tasting Notes:

Cruzcampo 4.4

A light, fruity aroma, Cruzcampo is an Alc 4.4% Vol Spanish lager, brewed with subtle hoppy notes and fruity characteristics.

Tasting Notes:

Foster's 3.7 Heineken

Foster's is the ultimate ice-cold refreshment. Its balance of subtle fruitiness and vanilla is ideal for the sweeter-toothed lager lover. The perfect session beer to enjoy with mates.

Tasting Notes: A light-coloured lager style, it presents full malt character with a balanced clean hop bitterness. Combined with a slightly hoppy, but yeasty/malty nose, Foster's lager is a full bodied beer with excellent drinkability.

Carling 4.0 Coors Brewers Ltd

The masterful blend that balances depth of flavour with the thirst quenching refreshment of the UK’s no.1 lager

Tasting Notes:

Amstel 4.1 Heineken

Our classic, golden Amstel Beer, with its very distinctive and mildly bitter taste, has over the years become well known beyond the borders of its native country.

Tasting Notes:

Birra Moretti 4.6 Heineken

The ultimate Italian lager since 1859, Birra Moretti’s special blend of high quality hops creates a smooth, full bodied beer with wholemeal bread top notes which are cut by a delicate citrus note.

Tasting Notes: It is a bottom fermented beer with a golden colour. This colouring is a result of the type of malt used in brewing. Its alcohol content is 4.6% alcohol by volume. It is not a strong beer and is therefore perfect for drinking at lunch, at dinner or for evenings out with friends

John Smiths Extra Smooth 3.6 John Smith's Brewery

John Smith’s Extra Smooth was launched in 1993 and is now the nation's number 1 ale.

Tasting Notes: The boffins say it has a distinct cereal character, with malty, caramel notes being complemented by some fruitiness. But we just think it’s a right good pint.

Neck Oil 4.3 Beavertown Brewery

Our all day, everyday, session drinking IPA. A blend of 7 American & Austrian hops, pineapple and orange citrus aroma, Passion fruit & grapefruit flavour with a refreshing, dry, crisp finish.

Tasting Notes:

Inch's 4.5 Heineken

Inch's believe that cider making is about all the little things, that finishing touch of care or that extra moment of attention. Not going that extra mile, but going that extra Inch.
