John Bull Chop House

A pub in Wigan.

The John Bull Chophouse is Wigan’s hidden gem of a pub! We’re based in the centre of Wigan, in the second oldest building in the town at over 500 years old. Known for our fantastic jukebox, we’ve evolved from a rock pub, to a beer drinker’s paradise and we offer some brilliant cask ales and some fantastic lagers and a small selection of quality pub food. We are close to the local shopping mall, train station, and Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council offices so if youre in and around the centre of Wigan, we’re definitely worth discovering. We look forward to seeing you here in Wigan’s hidden gem soon. Why not come down and pay us a visit!

13 Guns Keg 5.5 Daniel Thwaites

Intensely hoppy, rich mouth feel, malty flavours with soft tropical fruit aroma and taste

Tasting Notes:

Lancaster Bomber 4.4 Daniel Thwaites

Best of British! This double award winning extra special Bitter is named after the WWII airplanes that made the famous Dam buster raids.

Tasting Notes: Brewed using pale ale and crystal malts for a rich full-bodied bitter flavour with biscuit and fruit malt aromas. The finely balanced hop character is enriched by the late addition of Styrian Goldings as a dry hop in each cask to give a more prominent floral hop aroma and warming aftertaste.

Razorback 3.8 Ringwood Brewery Ltd

Still brewed to the same recipe as in 1978

Tasting Notes: A well rounded malt mouthful with a dry delicate fruit finish

Wainwright 4.1 Wainwright

An exquisitely, golden ale, named after Alfred Wainwright, the renowned Lakeland author who was born in Blackburn.

Tasting Notes: Wainwright is a refreshing golden ale with subtle sweetness from the Maris Otter malts and the special mix of hops give a delicate citrus fruit overtone. Voted World’s Best Golden Ale at the World Beer Awards.
